Summary

Chapter 46 is from Simon's perspective. Baz says Simon has to return to the room, warning him that he is surrounded by vampires. Baz leads Simon, urging Simon to pretend he is in Baz's thrall. When they reach the hotel room, Baz is drunk, making it harder to control himself. Penny casts a spell that summons all the birds from the lobby to their room and another to hide the scene. Baz begins ripping into the birds but Penny sends him to the bathroom. Simon and Shepard gather the rest of the birds while Penny hides her eyes. When Baz is sated, he asks to be alone in the bathroom, saying he will use magic to clean up.
