Summary
Chapter 9 opens from Baz's perspective. He feels there must be a silver cross nearby because his nose is running. He is glad they are flying coach because he has an excuse to be pushed close to Simon. He notes that Simon keeps watching movies and complaining about the poor acting during the fight scenes. The perspective then switches to Simon. He had expected a problem entering America, but is thrilled when he is through the Chicago airport, and more so when he discovers Penny has reserved a classic Mustang convertible for them to drive. Penny casts a spell which includes the lines “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings” and “I put my thing down, flip it and reverse it” (39).
