Part 2: Chapter 9 Summary
Einstein continues to sneeze over the next couple of days, and his appetite seems diminished. Travis is concerned and asks him if he is well. Einstein insists he feels fine other than being a little more thirsty than usual. Nora even buys a book to diagnose Einstein's symptoms, but finds that his symptoms are too general to be of help. Einstein appears to improve, so Travis tells Nora she should stop worrying. Then one morning, Travis gets up to find Einstein has left a message telling him that he is very sick, but they should not take him to the vet. After a hurried search of the house, Travis finds Einstein in the bathroom where he had been sick in the toilet. Travis tells Nora to get the truck, bundles Einstein into a blanket, and rushes him outside. They drive into...
