Part 1: Chapter 6 Summary

Travis and Nora continue to spend time together as spring becomes summer. Travis pays for Nora to have her hair cut, but she is so convinced that she is not an attractive woman, she combs out the style. Later, when Travis buys her an expensive dress, Nora refuses to wear it as she feels that she will be laughed at. Travis insists, and Nora slowly comes to realize she is an attractive woman who deserves such luxury. Travis can see the hold Violet Devon has over Nora, and he decides to do something about it.
