Summary

Mare waits in the city of Corvium with Farley and Davidson as they plan to take the crown back from Cal who chose a life as king over his love for Mare. She keeps calling him Tiberius to try and convince herself that he is not the same man she fell in love with. However, she does not hate his decision. Farley says she will tell the council about Cal, but Davidson believes they already know. Mare says a woman named Anabel has more information than Mare does, but knows she is lying. Davidson leaves them to return to command. Mare listens to the silence of the Corvium and recalls when Reds, people with red blood and no powers, were sent to this city to die. Now, they are working with Silvers, the rulers with magical abilities against the usurped king...
