Summary
Chapter 21 begins with Eitan waking from a nightmare. He calls Sirkit to inform her of the baby’s death, and she requests that he return to the illegal hospital to observe Semar. After inspecting Semar, Eitan advises that she remain in bed for two days, but Sirkit insists that Semar must resume working at the restaurant to avoid arousing Davidson’s attention. Meanwhile, Davidson calls Sayyid, who requests that Davidson collect the money for Asum’s lost drug shipment. Shaken by Sayyid’s threat, Davidson releases his restaurant staff early. As he wanders through the Eritreans’ trailers, Davidson discovers the Tlalim garage with Semar and Sirkit inside. He yells at the women for concealing the illegal hospital from him and beats Semar. When Davidson maintains his grasp on Semar after Sirkit demands that he release her, Sirkit stabs Davidson to death. Eitan discovers Sirkit...
