Savannah Jackson
Savannah is the first of the four friends to be introduced in the novel as she in the final stages of planning a move from Denver, Colorado, to Phoenix, Arizona. Savannah is a professional woman, who moves frequently when the men she meets in the various cities in which she lives do not meet her emotional needs. Savannah's choice to move to Phoenix is an emotional choice to be near her best friend, Bernadine, and Savannah even takes a pay cut in her new job in order to make the move.
