Windowless Cab
The windowless cab symbolizes Irina's unawareness of the circumstances that surround her. When Irina first arrives to the city of San Francisco, she rides in a windowless cab. She contemplates the cabs as constituting a semi-public space, where people play out their personal affairs oblivious to the eyes of others who can peer in. The cab is automated, so she is driven to her destination. This represents that she is lead to events that are outside of her control. She is still in the dark and being driven by external forces, mainly through technological automation. Although she is using new technology to meet her needs, she gives up her control to the machines' will and aim.
