Summary

In Vaguely Cetacean, Telemetry Irreconcilable, and Flaw in His Vision, Kern sails to a nearby ship and Akemi tells him to reach a shallow cavity toward the back of a very large dark ship. Kern's GPS reads "TELEMETRY IRRECONCILABLE" (307). Kern waits in the black ships deck for Akemi's command. She tells him to leave the ship onto the pier, where there is a space elevator, created as a defunct and cheap alternative to travel into low orbit. He enters it and reaches the rooftop. He feels as if he is in an Arthurian tale. He finds a place to set up a sat-phone with data cables to a computer. He sees a grey metal panel with a blue metal inside, where he pushes in the cables. The metal coalesces around the cable. Akemi tells him to break open his phone...
