Part 5, The Iowa: Chapters 52-63 Summary

De Vaal sends a note to the American government pretending to be the Prime Minister of South Africa informing them of the imminent attack by the AAR. On the Iowa, Emma has boarded the ship without anyone's knowledge and prepares to carry out an assassination. At the same time, Fawkes is carefully directing the Iowa through Chesapeake Bay to the Potomac in order to carry out the attack on Washington, D.C. Pitt goes to the hospital to visit Bass and to learn all he can about the weapons from Vixen 03. Bass tells Pitt that the weapons deploy a parachute to slow them down and that they will only detonate after the altimeter senses that the weapon has gone below one thousand feet. The Iowa almost gets trapped in a sandbar, but Fawkes successfully maneuvers...
