Part 4, No Return Ticket: Chapters 42-46 Summary
Pitt calls Sandecker and tells him about the missing weapons. Sandecker wants to go to the government, but Pitt urges him to wait. Pitt suddenly has an idea and asks Sandecker for several days before Sandecker goes to the government. Pitt then goes to visit the Rafertys. Pitt has come to the conclusion that only the Rafertys could have killed Loren's father, put his body in the plane, and then removed the body. Lee Raferty was a deep sea diver, meaning he could easily have dived on the plane without suffering the same effects Pitt suffered on his first dive. Maxine Raferty was also present when Pitt spoke with the FAA investigator who identified Vixen 03 for him. When Pitt presents his theory to Lee, the man admits to killing Loren's father in order...
