Part 2, Operation Wild Rose: Chapters 11-25 Summary

A young AAR soldier is running recognizance on the Fawkes' farm under orders from his supervisors within the AAR. While doing this recognizance, the soldier sees someone else in AAR uniform also watching the farm. At the same time, the patriarch of the Fawkes family, Patrick Fawkes, has been called away to visit with the South African defense minister, Peiter De Vaal to consult on a military operation. Fawkes is an Aberdeen sea captain who came to Natal with his family after he retired. On the way to meet with the defense minister, Fawkes is delayed when a couple of black teenagers attempt to run him off the road. Fawkes is forced to kill these young men.
