Chapter 26 Summary
William and Michael Alexander follow Cross and Craig from the bar. They know who they are and for whom they work. William reveals part of the reason for their success thus far: he hates rules. He realizes that following rules on every murder would get them caught. Michael, the younger and more impetuous brother, calls the cops toothless. William fears the energy of one of the officers, but he fails to identify which one. They stop hunting the cops and go to a vampire church, where some young people go to role play vampire and some actually live the lifestyle. William remembers the last time they visited, they drained a beautiful young boy.
Chapter 26 Analysis
The situational irony between the Alexanders and the police grows until they finally kidnap Investigator Hughes. The Alexanders never reveal where they gain their information for their missions...
