Field Guide to the Birds
Field Guide to the Birds was written by Roger Tory Peterson, and originally published in 1934. The book was one of the original modern field guides. Macdonald discusses the significance of the work in her essay "Field Guides." Peterson's book was revolutionary due in part to its comprehensive sketches of birds from a distance.
