Summary

In Chapter 33, Oliver is amused by Vera's dinner invite when Officer Gray arrives with a search warrant. She demands he come to the police station where she questions where he was the night Marshall died. Oliver struggles to respond and is horrified when she shows the manuscript, insinuating it is proof of motive. Oliver asks for a lawyer and leaves, angry with Vera for betraying him. Still, he goes to her dinner party.

Chapter 34 shifts to Julia and Vera preparing for dinner. Julia is nervous to see Oliver, but also happy to see Emma's growing confidence. As the party starts, Julia learns that Riki and Sana are dating. Oliver arrives, demanding to speak to Vera about the manuscript. Julia reveals she gave it to Officer Gray and accuses him of jealousy and murder. Oliver shouts that he planted drugs in Marshall's bag...
