Summary

In Chapter 14, Vera feels that every suspect reeks of guilt. However, she feels protective of all of them. At her questions, Oliver says he was dropping things off at his dad's house. Riki reluctantly says he was home playing video games and Sana refuses to say anything. They are surprised by officer Gray who asks to speak to Julia in private. Vera tries to listen in as Riki and Sana leave. Officer Gray returns and announces that Marshall died of an allergic reaction to bird dander, surprising Vera. Still, she avoids telling Gray the things she noticed and writes this new information in her notebook.

In Chapter 15, Riki feels nervous talking to Sana, especially learning she lives close to him. She reveals her mother is a television writer and does not believe in Sana's artist block. Riki realizes he never considered the pressures...
