Point of View
The point of view in this book is third limited. The focus of the reader is mainly on Venetia, but also on other characters in the novel as appropriate. Using this point of view the reader can see the thoughts and feelings of the characters. This allows the reader to better understand the actions of the characters. This is important because some of the things that these characters worried about aren't usually as big of worries to readers now. Although the view is limited, it is broadly limited.
The story is told through a mixture of dialogue and exposition. Often, following the thoughts of one individual bring the reader to the thoughts or actions of another. Sometimes this shift can be a little confusing, but all in all, it isn't that difficult to follow.
