Point of View

VenCo uses a third-person narration, with the perspective shifting throughout the novel to give readers the thoughts, memories, and perspectives of most of the characters. As Lucky is the protagonist, a good deal of the novel does focus more on her perspective than others. Because Lucky is often focused more on herself than those around her, especially at the beginning of the novel, the sections from her perspective do not contain very much description of the world around her, though this changes toward the end of the novel. On the other hand, Jay is frequently hyper-aware of the world around him, therefore the sections of the novel told from his perspective contain more description.
