Summary

In Chapter 25, Elvis and the Antelope collect two guns from their apartment and follow Maite and Rubén to a restaurant. Elvis plays a song on the jukebox and makes eye contact with Maite. Elvis later meets with El Mago and updates him about the ad in the paper. Elvis asks indirectly about El Gazpacho, but El Mago dismisses his questions. El Mago “looked older that night” (241) and tells Elvis the Hawks are in danger of being replaced by the DFS. He desperately implores Elvis to “get me anything” (241).

Maite and Rubén wake up the next day and again make love. After, as they kiss, they accidentally break the statuette that Maite stole from Leonora’s apartment.
