Summary

In Chapter 7, Maite returns to the print shop. She tells Rubén that Leonora has still not returned, and he agrees to question the members of Asterisk, an art collective to which Leonora belonged. They make plans to reconnect the following evening. Maite calls her mother to ask for financial help in order to retrieve her car. Frustrated, Maite soon hangs up. She listens to records and reads Secret Romance, “admiring” (78) the story’s characters: Pablo, Beatriz, and Jorge Luis, who is in a coma. She contemplates her former plan to visit Cuba, a place which reminds her of the comic book.
