Part Two: Chapters 18-19 (pg 241 - 261) Summary
Alyx attempts to write Raine, but all of her letters are returned unopened. In November, Alyx gives birth to a beautiful baby girl, Catherine. The baby constantly cries and Alyx knows no way to calm her. She feels worthless. Judith cannot deal with Alyx's moping so she puts her to work. Alyx is finally happy to have something to take her mind off of Raine. Alyx also volunteers at a hospital. Judith and Gavin are not impressed with their singing, they think she has a beautiful voice, but they will not praise her for it.
