The next night, The Vampire Lestat performs as scheduled to a sold-out crowd. Lestat feels the familiar sensation of stepping out on a stage though it has been centuries since he has done so. The songs they perform are all about the history of the vampires. During the show, Lestat taunts the real vampires and dares them to show themselves. After the concert, he attempts a quick getaway with Louis. Lestat is delighted to also be reunited with Gabrielle. As they try to make their escape on the freeway they realize they are pursued by other vampires who appear to be exploding into flames.
