Part 7, Chapter 8 Summary
A while after his transformation, Marius emerges from the oak and begins to drink from the evildoers who are condemned to death. He drinks his fill from countless victims before the end of the night. As the ceremony draws to a close, the Druids go into the oak and take the ancient god out and throw him on the fire. Marius is reminded of his warning to run and not be kept prisoner by the Druids. After a fierce struggle, Marius breaks free and flees through the forest. Days later, he arrives at his home in Rome and packs up his belongings and heads to Alexandria in search of answers.
