Part 3, Chapter 7 Summary

The next night as Lestat and Gabrielle awaken, they hear the sound of music and singing. There is a mass being celebrated. Lestat tries to keep Gabrielle quiet so that they can wait until the mass is over but she is having none of it. Eventually, Lestat gives in and agrees that they should break free and escape, but he explains that they need to do it as proper vampires, as fiends. They burst forth from the crypt screaming as they terrify the entire congregation. On their way out of the church, Lestat tosses gold coins at the people.
