Part 3, Chapter 3 Summary

Gabrielle's first night as a vampire is a long one. She and Lestat wander throughout Paris and find her the first victim. Lestat explains everything that Magus had told him before he died. Gabrielle's activities begin to exhaust Lestat since he cannot seem to convince her to go home to the tower. She needs to go places, investigate, and test out her powers. Lestat comments that he thinks that Gabrielle does not believe that she will, in fact, live forever. She takes full advantage of this second lease on life. As for the hunt, she takes to it very naturally in a cool manner that unnerves Lestat. It makes him uneasy watching her.
