Part 2, Chapter 13 Summary
The next night, at Lestat's urging, Roget goes to the theatre and makes excuses for Lestat's behavior. The actors and Renaud believe the excuses. Nicki however, is not convinced. Lestat also decides that he wants the theatre shut down and the actors gone. He pays to have them go to London and then on to America. For Nicki, he plans a rouse to have him accompany Lestat's dying mother to Italy. When Roget hears this, he stops Lestat and tells him that his mother is in Paris and wants to see him before she dies. Although her condition is worsening, Lestat is unable to go to her since morning is coming. He promises to see her the next day.
