Part 2, Chapter 10 Summary
As the nights go by, Lestat more and more enjoys his life as an immortal. He has Roget write letters and send gifts to Lestat's family, the theatre troupe, and Nicholas. Although everyone is happy to hear of Lestat's good fortune, Nicholas is not. Lestat also decides to buy Renaud's House of Thesbians. He also continues to learn more about his abilities. It is during a visit to Roget that he discovers that he now knows how to read and takes all the letters from his mother home with him. Also, there is the intermittent and elusive sense of presence from someone else that he picks up. Time and again, he hears nothing in response to his calls for it to come forward and reveal itself.
