Part 2, Chapter 7 Summary
It is the thirst that wakes Lestat up the next night. He quickly discovers that he can read others' thoughts as he senses the presence of a mortal in the tower. It turns out to be Magnus' servant. Lestat encounters him and tells him that Magnus has gone into the fire. Then he kills him. He realizes that the kill makes him stronger than before. Lestat then drags the corpse into the room with the others and leaves him.
Part 2, Chapter 7 Analysis
In this chapter, Lestat learns the thrill of the kill. He knows, as he knew from the night before, that others will have to die in order for him to kill. When Lestat stumbles upon the servant, Lestat sees how easy and luxuriant it is to kill someone who is malicious. Not only is the hunt thrilling for him...
