Chapters 21-22 Summary
In Chapter 21, Rose and Dimitri make out, and voices in Rose's head seem to push her to be distracted by him. She asks about his tattoos that indicate he's killed six Strigoi. The killings make him sad, but not really guilty. They start kissing again, and he takes Rose's gold rose necklace off. Suddenly Rose feels as if she's waking up from a long sleep. Dimitri touches the necklace again, and the two are overcome with lust. Dimitri pushes away and throws the necklace out the window. Once the necklace is gone, Rose remembers about Lissa. She and Dimitri rush to dress and report that Lissa's been kidnapped. Headmistress Kirova finds it hard to believe that the attackers were guardians.
