Chapters 19-20 Summary

In Chapter 19, Dimitri goes to the chapel and brings Lissa back to the clinic, unconscious. When she's well enough for Rose to see her, Lissa is angry that Rose told about her cutting. Rose also wants to reveal her powers. Lissa turns away and tells Rose to get out. Lissa is released from the clinic, as long as she goes to counseling and takes medicine for depression. Word gets around about Lissa being brought to the clinic, and Lissa isn't speaking to Rose. Tongues wag. Stories go around that Rose stopped Lissa from running away and that Lissa is pregnant, among others. Mia tries to drag the truth from Rose, to use against Lissa, but Rose remains loyal.

When the dance comes, Rose decides not to go. In her dorm room, she feels Lissa's anxiety and excitement. Rose has just come...
