Logan Ramsay

Logan Ramsay is the main protagonist and narrator of the novel. At first, he is an agent for the Gene Protection Agency (GPA) out of guilt since he was unwittingly involved in causing the Great Starvation. Over time, however, it becomes clear that Logan’s mother, Miriam, was the one responsible, and Logan took the fall after she disappeared. After Logan receives an advanced genetic upgrade during a raid, he learns that Miriam actually faked her own death and plans to unleash the intelligence upgrade on the rest of humanity. However, once Logan learns Miriam committed suicide after completing the upgrade, Logan believes his mother’s pride will cause another disaster like the Great Starvation. This puts him in direct conflict with his sister, Kara, who wants to release the Upgrade on Miriam’s behalf.
