"Update on Werewolves” is a seven-stanza free-verse poem by Margaret Atwood, a Canadian author best known for her novel The Handmaid’s Tale. It was first shared on the social storytelling platform Wattpad. Many saw this as a validation of Wattpad, which previously had a reputation for amateur writing. The poem uses werewolves, and in particular cinematic werewolves, as a metaphor for shifting gender expectations across time.
