Summary
Chapter 8
Maise buries herself in her semester project hoping to escape from her obsession with Evan. She and Wesley are working on their projects in the library. Wesley offers to let her see his work, but she tells him to surprise her. She and Evan try to avoid each other during the week, spending only weekends together. Sometimes she can’t stay away, and she visits him in his apartment at night. One day in St. Louis, she recognizes the driver of a car, Quinn, who nods at her before driving away. She doesn’t mention the incident to Evan.
She spends Thanksgiving with Wesley and his family. She has the feeling that she has finally found her real family. When she gets teary, she goes outside. Siobhan follows her. Siobhan tells Maise how much she loves her children, and that Maise is beginning...
