Chapter 4

In Chapter 4, the next day at school Wesley picks up that Maise was with Evan. When she sees her teacher in the hall, their fingers touch briefly. Maise goes to Wesley’s house that evening so they can start working on their project. She recognizes just by her first look in the house that Wesley’s mom cares. Wesley’s mom is Irish as well, and beautiful. They drink lemonade and Siobhan talks to the two about their film project. In Wesley’s room, they look at the footage he’s shot. Much of it involves Maise. She notices how her yearning for Evan is clear in the way she looks at him. She comments there isn’t much he could do with the footage he has except make a film about her.
