Summary
In Chapter 14, though they know they might be evicted, Jeanie and Julius take a walk like they have nothing to worry about. During their outing, Julius suggests that they play a "gig at the Plough" (134). Jeanie is reluctant. Julius says it is the only way to pass along the music their parents' taught them. They talk more about their parents, speculating about Dot's extramarital affairs. When they get home, they find the eviction notice on the door. Later, Jeanie starts packing valuables just in case.
In Chapter 15, while Jeanie is playing the guitar, Bridget arrives with food. Jeanie tells her about the eviction. Bridget did not know Nathan was involved with the Rawsons. The women go upstairs and sort through Dot's clothing. Bridget tries convincing Jeanie to keep it. She also suggests that Jeanie and Julius stay with her for a while. Then...
