Two Different Races

The central image and conceit of this story are the two prominent races. The Arcadians are basically humans who are able to take animal form once they reach puberty. For them, puberty occurs around the age of twenty-five. Their prominent form is human, so when they sleep they look like humans and have human hearts. For them, their training is to go from human form to animal form by using magic.

The Katagarian are animals who can take human form once they reached puberty at the same time.
