Summary
In Chapter 69, Chibundu finds the letters that Ijeoma wrote to Ndidi but never sent. Chibundu yells at Ijeoma and then presents her with a stack of letters from Ndidi. Ijeoma is shocked, and Chibundu explains that whenever a letter from Ndidi arrived, he confiscated it, as he believed that Ijeoma did not reciprocate Ndidi’s feelings. Chibundu orders Ijeoma to forget Ndidi. In Chapter 70, Chibundu implores Ijeoma to simply force herself to love him instead of Ndidi. Ijeoma tries to explain that it is impossible, but Chibundu ignores her. Ijeoma later considers the possibility of taking Chidinma and leaving Chibundu in order to raise Chidinma by herself. In Chapter 71, Chibundu tries to win Ijeoma’s affection by buying a new car for her, but Ijeoma continues to try to keep a distance from her husband.
