Summary
In Chapter 10, Isserley spotted a hitchhiker but he was too puny for her needs. Her car began to rattle again. She decided she would fix it after she finished working. She did pick up a man with curly red hair. When he came up to her car, however, Isserley discovered she was unable to speak. The hitchhiker seemed uncomfortable because she did not talk to him. He tried to think of things to say to her but could come up with nothing. When he looked at her closely he noticed she seemed to be in distress with mud on her pants and the smell of sweat and seawater coming off her. He wished he knew her story, sure that it was an inspirational one as he looked at the scars that covered her body. He considered talking to her about his partner, but decided...
