Jacky Faber

Born Mary Faber, Jacky is a young teenager who is more at home on a ship than anywhere else. Jacky is headstrong but completely loyal. When she is kidnapped and pressed into service aboard the Wolverine, Jacky initially tries to run away. Then she's entered into the ship's log as a member of the crew and her entire attitude changes. Though she faces horrible conditions and no one would have blamed her if she had tried to run away, Jacky remains aboard the ship and gets to work. The men onboard the Wolverine soon realize what kind of person she is and freely give her their respect. They are willing to go to great lengths to protect Jacky. When Captain Scroggs is planning to rape Jacky, the men threaten mutiny though to do so puts their lives in danger. This threat may contribute to the heart attack...
