Anna Wiener
Anna is the author, narrator, and main character of Uncanny Valley. Anna is a liberal arts graduate who began her career in publishing, which demonstrates a love of literature and books that symbolizes her connection to the material, physical world. She is not technologically-minded and always works in non-tech positions in Silicon Valley. At times, this makes her feel that she and her skill set are valued less by the tech economy, but she has a love of the physical and analog worlds that make her feel more human. She describes herself as having a side to her personality that is "emotional, impractical, ambivalent, and inconvenient" (260).
