Chapter 35

Shay and the survivors split up and escape. Shay and X, the dog, take West’s jeep. Police start to show up at the facility, and everyone becomes separated in the chaos. At the lab, Sync, Thorne, and Harmon are cleaning everything up, hiding the section of the lab where their experiments took place. They have their PR teams in place, blaming the whole thing on West leading an animal rights group into the lab.

Shay stops off at a hotel, cutting and dyeing her hair. She reconnects with everyone in Reno. Twist tells her West didn’t make it and Shay is devastated, writing a final message to West’s email account, saying he was a hero and she always trusted him.
