Chapter 17

Twist takes Shay to a secret shop where one of his contacts, Girard, works as a doctor. Girard starts to treat X. At first he isn’t sure what’s wrong, so he starts to X-ray the dog. He finds out that X has been given many cybernetic implants, which he suspects are causing the trouble. An angry Twist demands to know what happened, and Shay tells him everything about Odin and discovering X.

She says she’s ready to leave for what she did, but Twist says she can stay. Shay sees a sketch lying on Twist's desk. It is of a parrot flying out of its cage. She understands how the bird feels. Shay discovers a hidden port in X’s head. She opens the port and realizes that it’s a charging port, similar to what a computer uses...
