Fear

Fear is a prominent theme throughout the book. This book even starts because of a fear of the Illuminati, hence why the Legion summons Andras in the first place. It creates discord and is the root of the problem throughout the book. From the first chapter there’s fear from running into the ghost alone in the graveyard but also when Kennedy runs into her mother. Kennedy’s mother has a strange attitude at her daughter mentioning being at the Jesuit cemetery. Rather than lecturing her, Kennedy's mother seems afraid of the cemetery.
