Summary
Prologue
Un Lun Dun begins with a brief prologue in which a man working on a chemistry project is stifled by a cloud of smoke, and presumably killed.
Chapter 1
At the margin of the schoolyard, Zanna, Deeba, and their friends notice a gray fox that appears to be staring at them. When Zanna and Eva approach it, it bows at Zanna before it bounds away.
Chapter 2
Deeba recalls the first time that someone approached Zanna at school and addressed her as “Schwazzy.” She and Zanna try to make sense of this strange moment, and then they see graffiti that says Zanna forever. After that, a post man delivers a package for Zanna, which contains just a note that says ‘we look forward to meeting you when the wheel turns.’ Zanna and Deeba also puzzle out what might be meant by the squirrels and...
