13 Summary

Joe is now feeling tired and thinks his time is up. Denny tells Pat to wait with him and he will fetch a doctor. However, when Denny is gone, Joe decides he should go to his room and die. He does not want Pat to come with him, but she insists. She escorts him to the elevator, but remembering what Al saw before he died, Joe decides to take the stairs. At this point, he can hardly walk and Pat runs ahead and taunts his efforts. She says it was a shame she never got to see the others die because watching her power work on other people is fascinating.
