Summary

In Chapter 9, Tyrell’s mother wakes up after her night out drinking. Jasmine tells Tyrell that she and Reyna have nowhere to go because Reyna’s boyfriend, Emiliano, kicked them out of his apartment. Tyrell must go see his friend, Calvin, so he can get involved in his businesses and make extra money on the side.

In Chapter 10, Calvin sells weed and other goods to make money on the street. He offers to help Tyrell start selling. Tyrell’s plan is instead to host parties and charge people to attend. He does not want to get involved with selling drugs and alcohol and risk going to jail.

In Chapter 11, Tyrell runs into Novisha’s mom at the laundromat. She invites him back to their house. He has a disagreement with Novisha and accuses her of thinking she is too good for him. She...
