Summary
After Bosch extensively debriefs the assembled officers about what had taken place while he was undercover, he proceeds back to San Fernando along with Lourdes. When Bosch checks his cell phone he sees that it is full of urgent voicemails from Soto, Haller, a Los Angeles Times reporter, and his own daughter. Bosch calls his daughter first, to reassure her that all is okay, but is mad at himself for keeping her in the dark about both cases, giving her significant reasons to worry. Bosch quickly meets with his daughter at his house and recounts his time undercover in even more extensive detail, as he trusts his daughter immensely.
Bosch calls the Van Nuys jail to find details about Elizabeth Clayton, the name of the woman who had briefly helped him while undercover. Bosch suddenly feels a tremendous sense of responsibility to help...
