Chapter 2 Summary
No time passes between the close of chapter 1 and the opening of chapter 2. Stephanie fights traffic on her way home from Kenny's apartment, with his mail in her purse. She makes her way to dinner at her parent's house, where her mom expresses worry over Stephanie's safety on the job. She suggests other, less dangerous means of employment.
Grandma Mazur appears for the first time as Stephanie's aged and slightly crazy grandmother. Grandma Mazur expresses impatience to leave for the funeral home, where she frequently attends viewings of the lately deceased of the 'burg. When Grandma offers to help Stephanie gain information about her latest case, Mrs. Plum badmouths the Morelli and Mancuso families, reminding Stephanie why she does not respect them. Grandma praises Stephanie's career and admits that she, too, carries a gun, much to everyone's dismay. It comes as a shock...
