Summary
In “The Sierra Nevada, California Part I,” “Red Flag Warning,” Akira and her father Lars were out for a horseback ride when Akira spotted a fire in the distance. Because Lars did not believe in climate change, he was unconcerned. He always assured Akira nature could “take care of itself” (3). Akira knew it was going to be bad.
