Summary
Chapter 8 is told from Ellery’s perspective on September 9th. She is ecstatic to have her suitcase and belongings back. She and her grandmother drive to the store together and her grandmother says that the guidance counselor called and asked when Ellery was going to take the SATs. Ellery said that she was not certain she was going to go to college, because her mother always said she would not be able to afford it. Her grandmother said that she would cover her tuition so Ellery could become a lawyer like she always wanted. Ellery goes out on a limb and asks her grandmother about Sarah, and her grandmother tells her all about Sarah.
